Boot menu
The GRUB menu offers 5 entries. Details of each one are in Boot menu.
- RedderOS
The everyday boot option: login screen and desktop, no administrator rights. Choose this one unless you have a specific reason not to.
- Temporary administrator
Like the normal option, but the user has passwordless sudo for that session. Only for tasks that need it.
- Serial console / debugging
No desktop, with the console on the serial port and kernel messages visible. For diagnosing a boot that fails.
- Self-test and shut down
Runs the automated checks, prints the result and shuts down. See the results under Transparency.
- Text mode, no desktop
Login and session on the text console. For computers with little RAM or whose graphics do not work.
